Careers

Bradley Bernstein Sands LLP (“BBS”) welcomes applications for an attorney to join our growing west coast, women-owned litigation boutique. BBS handles complex matters for private and public clients across the country. We provide exceptional service to our clients because we value deep collaboration and share a genuine curiosity about our clients, each other, and the world around us.

An ideal candidate is:

  • an enthusiastic, curious, and collaborative lawyer;

  • an excellent writer;

  • a lawyer with between 2-4 years of experience in complex civil litigation;

  • a member of the bar in California, Oregon, or Washington; and

  • a first-generation professional or member of an underrepresented community in the legal profession.

To back up our commitment to creating a firm where attorneys do amazing work, but retain amazing lives, the billable expectation for this role is 1300 billable hours a year. If you want to work more, you can (and you will be paid), but it is not expected or required.

We built the firm to provide the very best value and service to our clients. But BBS also strives to build a truly diverse workplace and a more humane practice of law that ensures that every lawyer at BBS can thrive not only at work, but also in their private life and in their involvement with our community. We are genuinely committed to giving all attorneys deep and substantive hands-on litigation experience and mentoring.

Our ideal candidate is passionate about lawyering, willing to dive into legal problems that are new to them, and interested in leveling up their litigation skills. If you are a big law firm associate or government attorney who is enthusiastic and curious about the law and your clients, but want to practice in a setting with a firmwide commitment to helping you become the very best lawyer you can be, please apply. We especially encourage attorneys from groups that are underrepresented in the legal practice to contact us.

BBS currently has attorneys in Oakland, Portland, Seattle, and Los Angeles, and is looking to locate this position in one of those cities. That said, BBS does not have required “in office” days, and hybrid or work-from-home arrangements are welcomed.

We hold multiple in-person retreats annually to refine our offerings to clients, discuss strategic initiatives, and connect with each other in person. We also sponsor and host a yearly summit with our BBS fellows. Participation of all attorneys in the fellowship program is encouraged.
